Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
We are located in SE Portland. We work out of a garage with a full working shop. We are appointment based so if you want to come to the shop and chat give us a call or email.
What brands do you work on?
We work on just about everything. Dvo, x fusion, rockshox, ohlins, Fox shox, mrp, and more just ask. If we can’t do it we know who can.
Do you want the whole bike or just the shock and fork?
Our space is small so we prefer just the shock and fork. That being said we can still take the whole bike no big deal.
When do i need a rebuild?
Just about all shocks and fork manufactures recommend 100-150 Hr service interval. This will ensure top suspension performance with minimal internal damages.
How do i set my sag?
Fox shocks has quite a bit of information about setup and install. Here’s a link to setting up sag.
How do i set up my compression and rebound?
Setting comp and rebound is a lot of trial and error. The best way to hone in on your settings is bracketing. Find a trail that you can lap about 8 times. After every lap and adjustment take notes. Write down all settings after the laps.
Lap 1. Write down your settings as they are now. just ride the trail like you can do it 7 more time.
Lap 2. Set rebound all the way open.
Lap 3. Set rebound all the way closed.
Lap 4. Set the rebound 2 clicks from your original settings in the direction that felt better - all the way open or all the way closed.
Lap 5. Set compression all the way open.
Lap 6. Set compression all the way closed.
Lap 7. Set the compression 2 clicks from your original settings in the direction that felt better - all the way open or all the way closed.
Lap 8. Now that you are close to where you want to be you can do 1 click at a time in the direction that you think will feel better.
